A submission to the Chords Of Orion Ambient Guitar Highlights series of video compilations. Probably should have practised a bit more before recording but why break the habit of a lifetime.

Having seen the call to guitars from Chords Of Orion I’ve knocked out a tune for #AmbientGuitarHighlights.

As the series I’m attempting to appear in has been quite generous in the application of the Ambient tag the fact that I’ve overplayed a bit will hopefully not be my undoing.

This was going to be backing for E-bow and what not but in the end I rather liked it as it stood. For anyone who follows Bill’s channel the choice of UD Stomp to base the sound around will come as no surprise but everything else was added on a whim.

It may all look a bit serious which is due to not being entirely decided on the structure of the tune before setting off and trying to remember when to wiggle the controller and volume pedals.

I’m going to claim the fluffs were in fact on purpose as they tended to produce the most interesting delay effects.

My Bands Were Often Camped In Pubs
A release of all things. Not quite what I intended to get going again but it came to mind at the end of last year and hear it is, a critique of and plea to the bands that forsake Bandcamp without good reason.

The main track, Bandcamp (Come Back), turned out a bit long as the lyrics on the faster bit were meant to run together but proved confusing like that so I split them into two sections. Given the length I’ve also done the ‘radio edit’, Bandcamp (Slight Return), which omits part two.

The Streaming Suite Consists of:

  3. The Pandora Paradox
  4. Bandcamp Regained

and is not at all a collection of oddments tenuously tacked together.

Man Of Arun No.2 Happy Fun Tunes

'Happy fun tune' is a line from the World Domination Enterprises song, 'Asbestos Lead Asbestos'.After a bit of a battle against with my ageing music computer I’ve managed to knock out an EP. It features a a track that sadly looks as though it’ll be topical for some time to come.

Also contains reheated filler from the era when I was tidier with genres. I had a sore throat when I did the words but sadly it didn’t improve my voice at all.

Man Of Arun No.3 Amateur Hour

‘Indiecompetent Band’ crosses generations with a riff from 1987 crowbarred into a new song whilst ‘Node’ is mainly a demo from 2009. ‘Rows’ is also new and bringing up the rear is ‘Wickham’ is an edited version of a track from… actually I don’t remember. Hold on while I look it up… 2014.

A Little Night Music No.1

Combining mucking about with toys and trying to get back to playing things all the way through I’ve knocked out a tune and a video which may become part of a series.

Made up on the night.

Made in the edit was the mistake of including the recording of the backup loop which even by the standards of this series is a bit on the dull side so you may want to skip to 2.20 in.

Features the strangely underrated AdrenaLinn which was doing many of the things recent effects pedals major in getting on for twenty years ago. Not much to note other than perhaps the pedal board splitting part way into two audio paths with the ability to loop either separately which in turn can be captured by the Boss RC50 tacked on the end.
