I didn’t feel this went anywhere in the end so haven’t entered it but there are a few bits I like. It’s based on Bright Sunny South in the Smithsonian Folkways playlist with the addition of various nature sounds that they uploaded. Mostly I’ve played around with effects and using a drum replacer VST to create the midi to trigger rhythmic parts. The only thing added manually is diddily dum dum dum the big bass drum.
After the best of compilation come the inevitable remixes in a desperate attempt at contemporary relevance.
I’m not sure I’ve got the hang of this EDM lark.
A bash at the POPsters mix kit as seen on Ototoy
Having stumbled across ‘Pretty Pretty Good’ via the pleasingly ludicrous video of this alternative Idol group hanging from a crane, the appeal of mixing it came from the offer of complete unadorned tracks rather than the more common stems. Also the possible puns around the name were too numerous to refuse.

An entry in the Chords of Orion Trial by Remix from back in the twenty first century. I’ve half-inched some dialogue to add a little impetus half way through from ‘You Will Become an Old Musician | Bring it on!‘ where the great man himself reads out a less than polite comment he’d received.
The only other additions are new drums and a synth part derived from Bill’s playing where I add an extra bar to the melody to fit the imposed structure. Plus special guest appearances from tam-tam and kangling 1.
Everything else is done by editing, effects, and of course – mirrors.

I had a bash at tweaking a track by Mike Five who runs the Lights And Lines Record Label. I’ve mainly topped and tailed it and avoided buggering up the bulk of the song too much. 1980’s style guitar solo at the end – or at least something similar to what I was playing in the 80s.
