Firefly Existed Because Of The English Trad Jazz Revival

Though the ‘カウボーイビバップ’ is often suggested as the inspiration for the short lived Joss Whedon TV show ‘Firefly’ it was actually Steve Miller’s ‘Space Cowboy’¹ that gave the initial impetus which itself was based on The Beatles’ ‘Lady Madonna’ which in turn borrowed heavily from Humphrey Lyttleton’s ‘Bad Penny Blues’.

Incidentally the piano on ‘Bad Penny Blues’ was played by Johnny Parker who later led The Sessionaires.
