Kenneth Williams aficionado Nick Cave had wanted to name his Bad Seeds spin off group after the Rambling Syd Rumpo song ‘The Grungerman Of Lowestoft’ but a number of releases had already been made using that moniker by Wolfgang Voigt in the 1990s. So he chose Grinderman instead.
