I Talk To The Trees
Can I Feed Them?
People wouldn’t sit by the windows in restaurants if they didn’t want to be stared at like fish in a tank would they.
Rite Of Passage
Boys pushing supermarket trolleys with look of resigned boredom during half-term holiday.
Freddie – Heaven This Side Of Heaven
Another ancient Fred and me track from 1988.
The film is from the home movies of Ken & Helen Ketcham to be found at the Internet Archive
I Won’t Iron, Don’t Ask Me
When You Look At The State Of The Country
It’s almost as if West Ham winning the FA Cup in 1975 never happened.
Freddie – Stay This Way
From the Freddie Past & Present cassette album of 1988. Originally a much faster track written with Richard of Voice Of The Rain> as well as Fred I slowed it down and used my entire arsenal of three effects pedals to get a swirly pad like background.
Christine – Hero (1986)
Another in the ‘what can I do to avoid real work but feel I’ve achieved something’ series.
Fred & Friends – Cracked Black (1986)
A Christine number recorded after the demise of the band by Fred and Richard plus Jim from the Jackalsons and accidentally yours truly after failure of a hired four track recorder resulted in time pressure to get it done with the borrowed replacement.
It was based around a noise I was making one day.
I cut the conveniently Public Domain Carnival Of Souls about to go with it.
Businessmen On Bicycles – Lonely Crocodile (Naked)
A rare BOB track before it was swamped in sound effects. Live to reel in 1986.
By clever use of studio trickery the sound of people shouting from some distance away was created by standing some distance away and shouting.
But even here the tensions can be heard which would lead to the split in 2014.
