The cheery Christmas locust
Brings such warmth and joy
That only a curmudgeon
Would begrudge their crops destroyed
A plague on all the houses

For it’s written in the Bible
And plain for all to see
Mary’s boy child loved all creatures
Almost equally
But in particular the locust
As a snack with his afternoon tea
