Man Of Arun – Impostors

2023/05/22

Are the bagpipes too much?

If you’re feeling generous this Music Weeklies challenge entry on the theme Hope & Despair might be described as organised sound. It is perhaps unlikely to be a crossover hit.

Featuring a number of recordings I’ve had lying around for some years including: violinist warming up in corridor, men shouting in field, Cancer Research Race For Life crowd on route, whine of wind through window, bagpiper at wedding, stuttering media player stream, and many more.

The video is an M-Project visualisation which is based on the old WinAmp add on. I would credit which one but foolishly didn’t write it down at the time and now can’t find it again amongst the thousands of presets.

Abandon all hope ye who enter here…

Apologies for repeating myself as I did throw bagpipes on a track in ’88. That led to Test Department’s Alistair Adams joining us on stage for rendition of said tune. Not as unlikely as it may seem – he was going out with our bass player’s neighbour.
